Our company is rated "A+" by A.M. Best, the insurance industry's most respected ratings agency. We have also been a member of the Better Business Bureau for 80 years.
Based in Walnut Creek, California, we have approximately 3,500 employees located primarily in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Jersey, and Oklahoma. For the better part of a century, our operations were combined with the AAA auto club serving Northern California, Nevada and Utah. In 2011, the two entities formally separated their operations and today work closely together to serve Members in that region. Other states served include Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming and the District of Columbia.
We underwrite insurance products through various companies. The companies are also known nationally by their group name, California State Auto Group. For additional information about the underwriting companies, please visit Terms of Use.
In 2012, we funded the non-profit Community Safety Foundation. Its mission is to make strategic, philanthropic investments to improve community safety and disaster preparedness, provide insurance education and contribute to the quality of life in the communities we serve.
